वैदिक या हिंदू ज्योतिष में रत्नों का एक अनूठा महत्व है। ग्रहों के कारण होने वाली समस्याओं और चिंताओं को दूर करने के लिए रत्न या ज्योतिषीय पत्थरों का उपयोग सदियों से किया जाता रहा है।
ग्रह मानव शरीर को ब्रह्मांडीय ऊर्जा जारी करता है जो सूर्य की किरणों के साथ आह्वान करती है - जिसमें दो अदृश्य पराबैंगनी और अवरक्त रंगों के साथ सात रंग के वर्णक्रम होते हैं। इस प्रकार ग्रह ब्रह्मांडीय किरणों या ऊर्जा के रूप में रंगों के माध्यम से मनुष्यों को प्रभावित करता है। ग्रहों से निकलने वाली ब्रह्मांडीय ऊर्जा उनके संबंधित रत्नों से निकलने वाले विकिरण से मेल खाती है।
